Breaking the Law of Physics

It is a Law of Physics (or so I've been told, although I never took Physics in high school or college): An oject in motion tends to stay in motion; an object at rest tends to stay at rest. Isn't that the truth? Whatever it is that we've been doing, that's what we tend to keep on doing. Maybe you used to be in church every Sunday. Then you went away for vacation. That was one Sunday away. When you get home, you find you are so far behind on laundry, bills, email, etc., you decide to stay home just one more week so you can catch up. That's two Sundays away. The next week you're a little afraid that someone might say something about your absences, so you decide that one more week out won't hurt. That's three Sundays away. Before you know it, it's been a month or more since you've been to church and it just seems easier to stay away than to go back.

This is your week to break the pattern. It's Back to Church Sunday! We are inviting everyone who has been away to come back to join us. Everyone will be welcomed with open arms - no questions asked. We have missed you! We want you back. We need you back so that our church family can be whole again. And maybe, just maybe, you need us too.

I hope to see you Sunday!

Pastor Jan
